External Limewash
Limewash is the traditional finish for lime render and Bath stone masonry. Applied in multiple thin coats, it soaks into the surface and allows the masonry to breathe.
Soft Distemper
Soft distemper is the correct interior finish for original lime plaster. It produces a very matte, chalky surface with warmth that modern emulsions do not replicate.
Oil-Bound Distemper
A more durable version of soft distemper. It was commonly used on period property woodwork and washable interior walls.
Modern Lime-Compatible Alternatives
